PKR man says Dr M broke PH promise by holding 2 posts
PETALING JAYA: Pahang PKR Youth has criticised Dr Mahathir Mohamad's decision to take charge of the education ministry, saying it was against Pakatan Harapan's promise that the prime minister would no longer hold another ministerial post.
"Any action that goes against the manifesto will not only disappoint our supporters but youths who have placed a lot of high hopes in the PH government," said the wing's chief, Wong Chun Yuan.
"I urge Tun Dr Mahathir to uphold the coalition's promise and reconsider his decision."
Some took to social media to criticise the decision.
"Should we be worried about where this slippery slope is going?" asked a user called Giovanni.
Mahathir today also announced his deputy, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the women, family and community development minister.
The prime minister previously named Lim Guan Eng from DAP as the finance minister, Mohamad Sabu from Amanah as the defence minister and Muhyiddin Yassin from PPBM as the home minister.
